About Pamela

Growing up in a household that loved animals but couldn't have them because of allergies had me dreaming at an early age of the day when I would be able to have a dog of my own.  From the moment I finally got one, my passion for, love of, and devotion to dogs simply took off.  I was fortunate to have had a very special cat adopt me when I was about 12, forging a lasting bond and establishing a special affinity for cats.  They have continued to adopt me throughout my life!

After leaving a successful career in the public/nonprofit sector to move to Portland and explore new opportunities, my love of dogs and being outdoors (in all weather!) led me to start a dog walking service.  I am a proponent of positive dog training techniques, having read widely on the subject, taken many classes, and learned from each of the dogs I've had the pleasure of sharing my life with over the years. 

When I'm not out walking dogs, I can be found either out taking photographs of nature or working on creating a beautiful piece of fused glass.  You can see my artwork at www.breitwaterworks.com.
